I guess they are investing their current capitals in projects that will yield investments in a couple of decades, if not less. This does make sense, economically speaking.

I think they are aware that oil will end being a source of income sooner or later therefore they have to find new businesses.

This is really fantastic, I am a witness since i work here every item use in its construction is ecofriendly saving both cost and human life as well.With this city ‘the source” or masder life is made easy and safer than ever since the birth of industralism….wow may God bless Abu Dhabi rulers for their wise ideas put into practise today,,,,,,,inchallah!!!

But maybe this should be seen as an experiment, aiming at investigating the possibilities of creating such a city and the infrastructure within it. It would probably be too complex to transform an existing city into something like this, due to the interference it would give with daily life activities in existing cities..
